Joshua Huen
Founder and Chief Executive Officer

As Dr. Battery’s chief executive officer, Joshua is responsible for Dr. Battery’s day-to-day-operations, as well as leading the company’s product development and technology strategy. Joshua is the founder of Dr. Battery. Joshua immigrated to Canada in 1992 and graduated from University of Western Ontario at the age of 24. Joshua is a 3rd generation businessman; his family owns a well-established company in Hong Kong, China and this is where he received firsthand experience in managing factories upon graduation. At the factory, Joshua learnt the operations, motivation, and psychology of factory workers. He also garnered knowledge of trading and exporting to and from China. This experience played a critical role in creating and shaping Dr. Battery and also helped Joshua to discover his management philosophy.

Joshua’s management approach extracts best practices from both Eastern and Western culture. He stands for equality and fairness in the workplace. One of the reasons that motivate Joshua to solidify the company’s foundations is his commitment to not only the employees, but also the employee’s family. Joshua is a firm believer in product knowledge and feels that one needs to step out of the boundaries of a trading company and become a product specialist in all aspects. This belief enabled Joshua to grow the company from three employees to more than 80 employees globally in 5 short years and in the past five years has substantially increased the company's profitability. Joshua has received a range of industry awards.

Fan Chun
Chief Financial Officer

Fan joined Dr. Battery in 2009 and was appointed Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, he is responsible for overall financial performance of the company, and for multiple corporate functions including investor relations, long-range planning and corporate and strategic development. In addition to his CFO duties, he also leads enterprise-wide efforts to continuously improve competitiveness of the company's business support functions. Fan is an expert in assisting companies to grow from small business to medium to larger enterprise.

Prior to being named CFO in Dr. Battery, Fan held the various senior positions and Principal Technical Director for more than five years, where he practiced the ERP systems consulting and integration, as well as supervised the dynamic team of accounting consultants and IT specialists to work with clients in public and private sectors. The personalized ERP system that is used in daily operations plays a vital role in Dr. Battery’s success.
Fan is a Certified Management Accountant, received a Business Commerce (Honours) from Memorial University of Newfoundland as well as a Master in Management Information Systems from the University of British Columbia.

Alan Au
Chief Technology Officer

Alan was appointed Chief Technology Officer in 2006 when a dedicated Dr. Battery technology team was formed. As CTO, Alan’s primarily role is assuring the successful execution of the company’s business mission through development and deployment of the company’s web presence. A part from the primarily role, Alan is responsible for driving the company-wide software strategy for the company’s IT management software, database application development, as well as website related automation solutions.

1994 he began his career in Los Angeles, where he developed an e-commerce system for an online shopping site that sells computer parts and custom-built computer systems. In 2000, he moved to Hong Kong where he formed a consulting company specializing in website development and ERP integration. His sixteen years of experience in developing complex e-commerce solutions has led companies such as Manulife Financial, Expedia and MYOB to seek his expertise in this area. Dr. Battery brand name has reached a million households in 40 countries through the well-developed E-Commerce sales channels built by Alan’s devoted IT team.

Ricky Ho
Chief Operation Officer

Ricky joins Dr. Battery team in 2006 where he started as warehouse packer with company size of five employees. Ricky was promoted General Manager in 2009, is responsible for effective inventory planning, providing leadership and staffing for Dr. Battery. Apart from his General Manager duties, Ricky is also a webmaster oversees company’s website design, development and marketing; as well as host and server management and computer system support.

Ricky was appointed Chief Operation Officer in 2012. As Chief Operation Officer, Ricky is responsible for managing the company’s daily operations and reporting them to the chief executive officer (CEO). He is accountable for the development and improvement of the systems that create and deliver the company’s products. Ricky is also responsible for ensuring that business operations are efficient and effective and that the proper management of resources, distribution of goods and service to customers.
Ricky holds the Certificate of Network Administrator Technician from British Columbia Institute of Technology.
